Portfolio Inquiry :: New Website
You all have seen the highlights of the recent sketchfolios I've been placing on FurBid. If not, everything that's recent in my VCL directory is from those in particular. Not Work Friendly Whatsoever. My question to you is what the market wants to see from me, specifically, these days. Consider this an open letter to finally tell me what you'd like to see more of.

In the meantime, a big fuckin' thanks to [info]kryceksfox for making my mind up for me *laughs*. Midway through this month, she surprised me by dumping the new location for the upcoming website into my lap. Cathode Ray Mission will still exist on Parodius for now-- as it is, it's more like a signpost for my various archives. Until then, ashryn.kryceksfox.com is going to be the home of the comic itself.

As a funny note, you know I'd never considered Ashryn for a plausible story character? Well, guess who's being highlighted first...

What I would like to see more of is characters in that cute style you draw (often drawn small and commenting on a larger drawing). That, or dark stuff with blood.
Your erotic drawings in the recent portfolios didn't appeal to me much I must say. maybe it's the fact there's multiple drawing in each with borders around them, combined to the style it makes the scenes very "distant" looking, it's like you are watching a bunch of photo, frozen scenes ; it lacks life imho.

Granted, my usual comment here would be 'draw humans now and then', although also... apropos your gay nudie furry pics... make some variation in your male anatomy. Different males have slightly different naughty bits. just look at any set of porno mags, and you'll see slightly different proportions between the phallic stalk's length and width, some are more ovoid in shape, some have a larger glans, some have smaller, some have a more pronounced urethral slit, some less so. Given the furry community, and what I've seen of such, I'd maybe even suggest trying to draw males that are a bit less hominid, and see if that sells. Likewise, balls are different, some hang more'n others, and so on and so forth. Don't be afraid to include just a touch of intentional asymmetry.

I'm going to get back to watching Nectarine TV while doing schoolwork, and preparing a demo for Breakpoint2004. Check out Nectarine TV... You might like it, if you have the bandwidth. Gives you an idea what I spent my teenage years with, before I ever encountered the timesuck that was furrydom.

heh, work-friendly. what a concept.

As for webcomics, don't sweat it so much, that's what summers are for.
